Top 5 Places to Watch the Vancouver Canucks

Shark Club
With a location just steps from GM Place, this place gets crazy busy before games. But stick around after the masses move on to the arena and you'll find yourself in hockey watching paradise. Countless well-positioned TVs and friendly, attentive staff combine with great (and greasy) eats and ample choices of draught beer to make everything okay, whether the 'Nucks win or lose.
Bonus - stick around for the post-game party, when things really heat up.
GM Place
Tickets are scarce and expensive (just like the beer), but nothing beats watching NHL hockey live. There isn't a bad seat in the house (although some are better than others.) Net yourself a Club Seat and order food and drinks right to your chair, or arrive early and stake out a spot at the Level 400 Brewhouse and watch the game in style.
Your Couch
What's not to love about watching a game at home - you get to choose who you sit next to, no one bothers you to get by on the way to the bathroom, the only annoying drunks are your friends, parking is free, you can wear whatever you want and can even do some channel surfing if the game gets boring. Maybe these shut-ins are on to something?
Local Pubs
Nothing draws a community together like a televised Canucks game. Families sit elbow to elbow with face-painted hardcores and confused out-of-towners. The energy is fantastic, making it the next best thing to being there.
Most pubs fill up early (especially for pay-per-view games) so get there early and band together with your neighbours as you cheer our beloved Canucks to victory.
Suggested venues include:
- The Flying Beaver - 4760 Inglis Drive (Richmond)
- The Black Bear - 1177 Lynn Valley Road, North Vancouver
- Copper Tank - 3135 West Broadway, Vancouver
Earls Paramount
This posh establishment at Nelson and Hornby boasts one of the most amazing collections of flat-screen plasmas you'll find anywhere. They are hanging from just about every surface. This is a very good thing, and the massive pints of Albino Rhino and 3-6pm wing special make it even better. Seating is limited, so get there early.
